On January 19, 2011, Colonel-General Vagif Akhundov, chief of the Special State Protection Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received the delegation headed by the General of the Army Necdet Özel, commander-in-chief of the Gendarme Forces of the Turkish Republic.
At the reception the parties mentioned the relations of friendship and brotherhood, and discussed the perspectives of the effective relations of cooperation between the Special State Protection Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Gendarme Forces of the Republic of Turkey.

On May 23, 2008, chief of the General Headquarters of the Gendarme Forces of Turkey Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Achikmeshe visited the Training Center of the Special State Protection Service.
The guest laid a wreath to the monument of the national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the territory of the Centre, visited Heydar Aliyev Museum there and got acquainted with the Centre.
    
King of Jordan Abdullah II went to the Training Centre of the Special State Protection Service, when he was on a visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan
While in the Republic of Azerbaijan King of Jordan Abdullah II visited the Training Centre of the Special State Protection Service Training Centre.
The guest was met sincerely by the chief of the Special State Protection Service Colonel-General Vagif Akhundov.
King Abdullah II was informed that the Centre was built by the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev. This military cantonment meets all modern demands and has a controlled entry and post, headquarters, an academic building, hostels for officers and soldiers, interactive shooting-range, dining rooms, shooting-ranges of various lengths.
King Abdullah II viewed the performances of the team of special assignment, watched various trainings. The King of Jordan got acquainted with the military communications of the Centre and heavy military machinery, watched the trainings in the shooting-ranges.
King Abdullah II made a note in the Book for the Honorary Guests. The highest guest was given a gift for memory.
